Home / Campus & community / Evacuation of Clearihue building

Update: 2:15 p.m.

Clearihue (CLE) will re-open at 3 p.m. once the building has ventilated.

A minor electrical issue caused a smell in the basement of CLE A-Wing. First responders acted quickly to identify the source of the smell and address the concern.

Upon re-entry, you may notice a minor smell in some areas of CLE. Please be assured that there is no safety risk.

Thank you to Saanich Fire for leading the response and to the many teams in Facilities, Occupational Health & Safety, Campus Security and Public Affairs for their quick action to support.
