The BC Centre for Disease Control has issued a toxic drug advisory for the Province of British Columbia.
Opioids/down now often contain the sedative medetomidine, which is the likely cause of increased drug poisonings.
If someone overdoses:
- Call 911 first, then Campus Security
- Give 1 breath every 5 seconds
- Give Naloxone
