Power has been restored to all buildings across campus. 

Further work is being scheduled to address maintenance of UVic’s high-voltage system in order to mitigate potential future issues. Scheduled outages will take place on Aug. 8 and again in November, as part of UVic’s ongoing maintenance plan. Thanks in advance for your patience, flexibility and understanding as we work to ensure long-term sustainability of UVic’s power system.

Crews are actively working on the issue and we hope to have power restored soon. While this work is underway, you may see power coming off/on in some of the impacted buildings intermittently.

We will share an update when power is restored. In the meantime, if you have questions about how this outage impacts you, please reach out directly to your supervisor or instructor(s).

An unplanned power outage is affecting a number of buildings on the north and west sides of campus. Buildings without power include:  

  • Student Union Building 
  • McKinnon 
  • Saunders 
  • Continuing Studies 
  • Michael Williams 
  • Health & Wellness  
  • Centennial Stadium 
  • Fraser
  • Centre for Indigenous Laws

Crews are on site and we are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We will share more information when it is available.
